Frequently asked questions

What type of therapy do you provide?

I provide person-centred counselling which is a talking therapy, based on the principle that the client is the expert of their own life.

The therapist provides a supportive relationship whereby the client can get to understand themselves better, through gaining more clarity and perspective about what's going on for them in their life.

What can I expect during a session?

We would go at your pace, and explore what you want to explore. Our first session would be about what you want to gain from counselling.

Each session would be based on what you wish to explore during that session.

How many sessions would I need?

There is no set number of sessions - six would be common but you can have as few, or as many, as you feel that you need.

What happens if I want to stop counselling?

There's no obligation for you to carry on with counselling with me, and you can finish whenever you like.

Most clients report feeling better after a few sessions.

Which professional body do you work with?

I'm registered with the BACP.

"I want every client to feel heard and understood, without judgement."
